Research Administration Tools

Through the support of the U.S. President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH), several institutions in Africa received capacity development grants through the Initiative on Research and Innovation Management (iRIM) to create innovative research administration training programs. Collaborative teams developed a curriculum for six workshops held in Sub-Saharan Africa. The workshops included presentations on a broad range of topics related to research management and administration, including: • Grant writing • Preparing and managing budgets • Ethical compliance • Subcontract management Staff from these organizations developed content that was used to help create a series of video presentations and interactive tutorials, which can be found on the Research Administration Tools website: http://www.researchadministrationtools.org.
