Raised between the Peruvian Andes and the Amazon rainforest, she bridges science and ancestral knowledge to drive environmental change. Her work achieved the world’s first legal recognition of an insect’s rights, inspired conservation laws, increased the value of native honey by over 500%, and launched nature-based economies across Indigenous territories.
She is the Founder and Executive Director of Amazon Research Internacional, recognised by the BBC, UNESCO–Al Fozan Prize, Peru’s Order of Merit, and The Explorers Club. Her work appears in The New York Times, BBC, CNN, National Geographic, and major documentaries, with collaborations including NASA, Boeing, PepsiCo and Garnier. Her book The Spirit of the Rainforest (2025) is followed by a Spanish edition in 2026.
